Instructor Name Michelle Bello Mental Health Counselor, MA, LMHC Parenting does not come with a manual, as we all know. I find it promising that as time has evolved, as a society we are becoming more aware of how challenging the rewarding role of being a parent can be for a plethora of reasons. It’s not something we traditionally took inventory of in the past, but has become apparent how important it is to reflect upon if we consciously and proactively want to be our best and feel confident that we are ensuring a healthy, encouraging, and warm environment for our children. I have a passion for helping my clients enhance their parent-child relationships and parenting skills, from a strength-based perspective. I am very humbled and excited to become part of “A Child’s Life”, as amazingly impactful as this program continues to prove, in helping to educate & stabilize families. I am also a certified Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) provider, practicing with families with children of all ages, allowing unique & different choices in the way the program is delivered, as well as options for some enhanced levels of service such as Coping Skills or Partner Support. Though I have and may work with parents with children of all ages, much of my passion, work and experience originates with the 0-5 year old population through education and training specialties of Infant Mental Health (IMH), Early Childhood Wellness (ECW), and Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), among others. I genuinely enjoy gaining further knowledge to understand and work more deeply with specific populations among parents, for example most recently, with parents wishing to adopt. I have practiced Individual and Family counseling since 2003 using various modalities including Play therapy, Dyadic therapy, and traditional Cognitive-Behavioral therapy. My educational background includes an MA in Counseling Psychology from Georgian Court University in Lakewood, New Jersey and a BA in Psychology from Notre Dame University in Baltimore, Maryland. Though my beloved hometown is in Toms River, New Jersey I have been enjoying life as a Floridian since 2003. I was a Palm Beach County resident for much of that time, but I currently live in the Treasure Coast area with my cherished family- my husband, two amazing sons, and our mini schnauzer. michelledbello@gmail.com Instructor Name Michelle Rampone, MSW, LCSW I am currently a licensed clinical social worker in both Massachusetts and Florida. Born and raised in New Jersey, I graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology in 1997 and earned a Masters in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University in 1999. For more than 18 years, I have provided direct clinical care to individuals, couples, and families. My area of specialty is working with school age children, young adults and their families who struggle with emotional, behavioral and mood issues such as ADD/ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, and Bipolar Disorder. Prior to moving here from Massachusetts to be closer to my family in 2013, I spent 14 years working with well-known and respected agencies in the Boston Metro West area. I was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to collaborate with several recognized experts who share the same area of specialty, including Dr. Edward Hallowell, a pioneer and celebrated author in the education and treatment of ADD/ADHD and Dr. Ross Greene, author of The Explosive Child and creator of CPS, Collaborate Problem Solving Approach. My experience with and dedication to treating ADD/ADHD in both children and adults, as well as other childhood behavioral and emotional issues, isn’t just professional; it’s personal: I have ADHD. Misdiagnosed and untreated until I was 30 and entering graduate school, I found myself struggling with and being treated for symptoms of anxiety and depression, which in retrospect seemed to be a direct result of my untreated ADHD. Having personally experienced many of these symptoms, as well as the hardships that typically occur as a result, enables me to better understand their effects from a variety of perspectives and apply that knowledge to the treatment of my clients. My clients feel that because I live with ADHD, have with struggled with it, understand the thoughts and emotions associated with it, and continue to find new strategies to manage and cope with it, it gives me an advantage in their treatment. Equally important, I seem to have an ability to connect and develop an alliance with teens, especially those who are defiant, disrespectful, who feel entitled or are resistant to counseling or coaching. Working with these challenging clients and the families affected by them, is my true passion. My clients have described me as an effective, progressive, hard working, caring, passionate, young at heart, empathetic, accommodating, “think outside the box” kind of therapist. Parenting is tough!! I’m raising two vibrant children myself, and this comes with many challenges. I’m honored to bring an evidenced based curriculum to you in a relaxed learning atmosphere. The DCF approved Family Stabilization class, “A Child’s Life Depends on Peaceful Resolutions” has been well received by those who have completed it, and best of all, it is geared toward giving families the tools they need to lower their stress levels and improve their relationships and communication with each other. My objective for you is to finish this class with having awareness of what children may be going through during this transition and the skills needed to support them. My favorite thing about Florida is our beautiful beaches, and Pensacola is the home of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels which are amazing to watch fly over the beaches of Pensacola.
